Dr. Shana Stites, a team member on IMPACT-AD and a clinical psychologist and researcher at the Penn Memory Center explained how early diagnosis helps: “A diagnosis explains what’s happening, why you’re not remembering, why you’re behaving this way”. Even when the diagnosis is Alzheimer's, patients and those around them sometimes feel relieved when their problems are given a name that recognizable to medical professionals and their family members.
